Frequently Asked Questions
Sourcing, fees, MOQ, samples, lead times, shipping, certification and consolidation
What does a sourcing agent actually do?
We act for you, not for the factory. In practice that means: finding the right belt and factory for your product, verifying the supplier before any money moves, getting samples into your hands and assessed, negotiating price, tooling and terms, following production, inspecting the goods before they ship, consolidating them with anything else you have bought, preparing the export documents and shipping them. You can hand us the whole chain or any single part of it.
How do you charge?
One of two models, agreed in writing before we start: a service fee per project, or a percentage of order value. The fee is stated separately from the factory price on your quotation, so you can see what each is. Sample and courier costs are quoted at cost. We do not add an undisclosed factory commission on top of an agreed fee.
Which parts of Guangdong do you cover?
We work across 18 industrial belts in Guangdong, with detailed pages for 12 of them: Zhongshan (lighting), Foshan (furniture, ceramics, building materials), Dongguan (electronics, moulds, contract furniture), Guangzhou (apparel, leather, beauty), Shenzhen (electronics, smart devices), Jiangmen (sanitary ware, audio), Chaozhou (ceramics), Shantou (toys, gifts), Jieyang (hardware, stainless), Yangjiang (knives, kitchen tools), Zhaoqing (materials, aluminium) and Huizhou (furniture, footwear, appliances). See the full map on the industrial belts page.
Can you source categories other than lighting and furniture?
Yes. Lighting and furniture are the two categories we know deepest, and lighting is the one we publish in full because we hold a specification file for every model in it. Beyond that we regularly source ceramics, sanitary ware, kitchenware, hardware, electronics, appliances, toys, packaging, apparel, bags, footwear and building materials — see the 22 categories listed under What We Source.
I already have a supplier. Can you still help?
Yes, and it is a common way to start. We can verify a supplier you found yourself, inspect and consolidate goods from factories you already buy from, or handle only the export documentation and shipping. We do not need to own the supplier relationship to make your order work.
Will you go behind my back to my supplier?
No. Your supplier list, specifications, drawings and pricing are confidential and are not used to quote your product to anyone else. Where you introduce us to a factory, we work as your representative. If you would rather we do not contact a supplier directly at all, say so and we will work through you.
What is your minimum order quantity?
MOQ is 50 pcs per model on catalog lighting as a starting point, and it is negotiable. Mixed-model orders within the same finish and material family often let you reach the minimum across several models rather than committing to one. For other categories the factory minimum depends on the belt and the specification — we will give you the real number for the specific product rather than a generic one.
How fast will I get a quotation?
Written quotations within 48 hours, Monday to Saturday. Send the product, the quantity, the destination and any target price. If the product is a photo or a description rather than a model number, we identify the belt and the closest options first and quote from there.
Do you show prices on the website?
No. Pricing depends on quantity, specification, finish, packing, shipping mode and destination, so a single published price would be misleading. Everything is quoted in writing against your actual requirement, with the freight shown as a separate line.
Can I order a sample before committing?
Yes, and we recommend it. Small items ship as courier samples at cost including freight, typically credited against the following bulk order. For large or custom items ask for a production sample — the actual unit, lit or assembled, measured, weighed and photographed before it is packed. Photo samples are free at any order size.
What are your payment terms?
Typically 30% deposit by T/T with the balance against shipping documents, and L/C at sight for large project orders. Exact terms are confirmed in writing on each quotation, and they will vary by supplier and category. See Trade Terms for the full policy.
What is the lead time?
25-40 days after deposit (ocean freight) on catalog lighting models. Other categories vary by belt: furniture is typically 30–45 days after sample approval, ceramics 25–40 days, toys 30–45 days with the peak season from August to October, and tooling projects 35–60 days including the mould. Ocean transit adds roughly 18–40 days depending on destination; air freight is days rather than weeks.
Which shipping terms do you offer?
EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP. FOB is the recommended starting point for a first order because it separates the goods price from the freight so you can see each and choose your own forwarder. See Export & Documentation for the document set and Trade Terms for the commercial policy.
Do you handle customs and export documentation?
Yes — booking, container loading, China customs declaration, and the full document set including commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin. Where your destination requires a conformity certificate (SASO, PVOC and equivalents), we arrange it against the production lot.
Will my products meet the certification rules of my market?
Certification is product- and market-specific, so it is confirmed in writing per product rather than promised catalog-wide. For the items on your list we tell you which certificates and test reports exist for your destination — NRTL listing (UL / ETL) for US lighting and appliances, CE and RoHS for the EU, UKCA for the UK, EN 71 / ASTM / CPSIA for toys, food-contact documentation for tableware, UN38.3 for lithium cells — and we flag any product that cannot meet the requirement before you commit. Ask at inquiry stage; certification is much cheaper to resolve before the order than after.
Can you customize a product, or make one from my drawing?
Both. Finishes, sizes, materials, electrical configuration and own-label packing can be changed on existing models. For a new product, send a drawing, a reference photo or a physical sample and we engineer it for production, including tooling where needed — quoted separately and amortised on volume. Send a photo of the room or project and we will return visual mock-ups with proposed items in place, free of charge.
Can you consolidate goods from several suppliers?
Yes, and it is one of the main reasons buyers use us. Mixed-category, mixed-supplier orders are gathered into one shipment with one document set and one customs entry, including goods from factories we had nothing to do with. This is usually cheaper than clearing several shipments separately, and safer for fragile goods than several LCL consignments.
What happens if goods arrive damaged?
Report it with photographs within seven days of arrival. Verified claims are settled by replacement, credit or refund as agreed in writing. Loading photographs, carton counts and the container seal number are recorded on every shipment, which is what makes these claims straightforward to resolve.
Do you ship to my country?
Worldwide, excluding embargoed and sanctioned destinations. Every order is screened against restricted-party and sanctions lists before acceptance. Some destinations additionally require a conformity certificate at import — tell us the destination at inquiry stage and we build that step into the schedule.
Can I visit the factories?
Yes. Factory visits are by appointment, and we would rather you came — buyers who have stood on the production line make better specifications. Write to us with your dates and the products you want to see and we will arrange the schedule, including the belts involved. Video walkthroughs are also available where travel is not practical.
What if my target price is not achievable?
We will tell you, and tell you why: which component or process is eating the number, and what would have to change — volume, material grade, finish, construction or packing — to reach it. What we will not do is quietly downgrade the specification to hit a price and let you discover it at inspection.
Do you offer programme pricing for designers and contractors?
Yes. The Trade Program gives tiered pricing by annual volume, specification sheets for your own documentation, phased deliveries matched to construction stages, and priority sampling. Joining takes one email and carries no fee or minimum commitment.
Do you support Amazon FBA sellers?
Yes. FBA prep covers FNSKU labelling, poly-bagging with the required suffocation warning, bundle assembly, carton labelling and packing to Amazon's requirements for fragile and oversize items — all done at the factory before export, which is cheaper and safer than prepping after arrival.
Do you offer dropshipping?
Yes, for products small enough to ship economically by courier — pendants, wall lights, table lamps, smaller flush mounts, accessories. Blind shipping means no supplier branding, no supplier invoice and no pricing in the parcel, with your own labels applied where you supply them.
How do I get a catalogue and price list?
The lighting catalog is published in full on this site because we hold a specification file for every model in it. Price lists are sent on request — tell us the categories you buy and the volumes you are planning, and you will get pricing rather than a generic PDF. For other categories, send the product and specification and you will get a shortlist and indicative pricing.
Can I use your catalog images and specifications?
For trade-program and distribution customers, yes — specification data may be used to serve your own end clients. Reselling site content or presenting our catalog as your own manufacturing is not permitted. See Terms of Service.
