Inspection & Quality Control
Checked before it is packed, not after it lands
Inspection is the cheapest insurance in the order. A defect found on the production line costs a replacement; the same defect found after the container lands costs freight, duty, storage and a conversation with your customer. We inspect in-line during production and again before shipment, and you get the evidence.
What gets inspected
- Workmanship — welds, joints, plating, paint coverage, glass and shade condition, sharp edges.
- Function — every sampled unit is powered up and tested: for lighting, lamp holder contact, switch action, dimming behaviour, driver output and integrated LED modules; for other categories, the function test agreed with you in writing.
- Wiring and safety — cable gauge and type, earthing continuity where specified, strain relief, terminal integrity, and the lamp holder rating against the label.
- Finish and colour — checked against the approved sample under neutral light, not shop lighting, which hides plating and paint drift.
- Completeness — accessories, mounting hardware, instructions, chains and rods, and the spare parts count.
- Packing — 5-layer carton, foam protection, carton drop test, barcode and shipping mark verification, and carton count against the packing list.
- Loading — supervised loading with photos and the seal number recorded, so what left the factory can be reconciled with what arrives.
How the evidence reaches you
Each inspection produces a dated report with photographs and video of the actual units — not catalog renders. Defects are listed with a count and a disposition: approved as-is, reworked, or replaced. You see the report before the container is sealed, which is the last moment at which a problem is still cheap to fix.
For large or phased orders the report is issued per lot, so each delivery wave carries its own evidence and can be tied back to the production date and the dye lot.
Defects, and what happens next
Findings are graded: critical (unsafe or non-functional), major (visible defect or wrong specification), minor (cosmetic, does not affect function or sale). Critical and major defects stop the shipment until they are resolved, and we tell you the count and the proposed remedy in writing before anything is reworked.
Where a defect is systemic — a whole lot with the same plating problem — the honest answer is usually to rework or remake rather than to ship with a discount. We will say so, even when it delays the order.
Sampling and acceptance
Where you have an approved sample, that sample is the reference and is kept against your order. Where you do not, inspection works to the written specification and the agreed photographs. Either way, the reference is fixed before production, which is what makes an inspection result objective rather than a matter of opinion.
Third-party inspection is welcome. If your own inspector or a nominated agency will attend, tell us at order stage so the production schedule and the packing stage are arranged around their visit.
