Ceiling light, rose gold, 14 in

SR-2026-075 · Lighting · Ceiling light · October 2026

Thirty-six rose-gold ceiling fixtures — a plated finish across a large lot, so colour consistency between units was the check that mattered.

Receiving photographs

Ceiling light, rose gold, 14 in as received at the consolidation warehouse
As received. The lot on the dock before anything is opened — counted against the packing list and checked for carton damage first, because a claim on transit damage has to be raised before the goods are moved.
Ceiling light, rose gold, 14 in — Opened on our floor
Opened on our floor. The first carton of the lot is opened in full. One unit is assembled or powered up as the client will use it, and compared against the approved sample rather than against the catalogue photograph.
Ceiling light, rose gold, 14 in — Fittings and hardware
Fittings and hardware. Hardware, fixings and loose components are checked against the parts list before the carton is resealed — a missing bag of fittings is a return on arrival, not a spare part.

Photographs taken at our consolidation warehouse as the lot was received and checked. Container numbers, shipping labels, supplier marks and brand markings are masked; the lot is shown as it arrived, not restyled.

How this order was run

  1. Kept the first order small on purpose: a trial quantity is the cheapest way to find out whether a supplier's second shipment looks like its first.
  2. Said which parts of the specification could not be held at this quantity and which could, rather than accepting a silent substitution.
  3. Held the balance of payment until the receiving check was done, so a rejected lot never became a negotiation after the money had moved.

What was checked at receiving

This is the ceiling light check sheet — the same list every order in this category goes through before the container is released.

  • Every unit in the inspection set powered and run at the destination voltage
  • Ceiling plate, screws and anchor type checked against the fixture weight — the fixing is specified by the weight, not by what is in the box
  • Suspension drop measured and set to the client's ceiling height before packing
  • Cable, chain or rod length confirmed; a fixed rod cannot be shortened on site without re-plating the cut end
  • Diffuser and shade inspected for chips and test-fitted on the assembled fixture

How it was packed

  • One fixture per carton with a moulded insert, diffusers boxed separately
  • Rods and chains bagged and taped inside the carton
  • Corner drop test per lot before the container closes

The note

A ceiling fixture is only as good as its fixing and its drop length. Both are cheap to settle at the factory and expensive to settle on a ladder.

It is why a ceiling order is settled on the fixing and the drop length before the finish is discussed — those are the two details that decide whether the fixture goes up on installation day.
