About
EU retailer, mixed-category trial
Retail · three belts
A first EU order too small for any one factory's MOQ — lighting, ceramics and hardware — that still had to arrive as one DDP shipment.
The brief
A specialist retailer testing three categories in one season. None of the quantities cleared a normal factory MOQ on their own, and three separate LCL shipments would have killed the trial on freight.
What we did
- Told the buyer which SKUs could not be made below MOQ, and which could if they rode with another buyer's production slot.
- Split the list across the belts that actually make them: lighting in Zhongshan, ceramics in Chaozhou, hardware in Jieyang.
- Held goods at a consolidation warehouse, inspected each factory's lot against its own sample, then packed one mixed carton plan.
- Shipped DDP so the trial did not also become the buyer's first customs education.
What changed
- Three factories, one shipment, one customs entry.
- Trial quantities that would have been refused as standalone POs still moved.
- CE / RoHS paperwork confirmed per SKU before the vessel, not after arrival.
What this taught. A mixed-category trial lives or dies on consolidation. The factory MOQ is real; the workaround is sharing a container, not pretending the MOQ does not exist.
Method, not a guarantee. See how we work and what the reports look like.
